The Mesoamerican Biodiversity-Friendly Cacao Award (MCA) aims to recognize the excellence of fine flavour Mesoamerican cacao, with respect to its flavour, its biodiversity-friendly production practices, and its potential in international markets.

The Coordination Committee (CC) for the Mesoamerican Biodiveristy-Friendly Cacao Award (MCA) includes representatives from different sectors involved in the cacao production chain.

Their tasks include:

• Offering technical advice for the organizers of the MCA

• Engaging key players (producers and consumers) in the promotion of the MCA

• Assisting in the cacao producer call for entries process

• Facilitating the process of verification of biodiversity-friendly production methods

• Helping with the publicity and marketing of the wide range of activities within the MCA
