The award recogonizes excellence in fine flavor cacao coming from cacao farms that apply biodiversity-friendly practices in the International markets.
The Coordination Committee (CC) for the Mesoamerican Biodiveristy-Friendly Cocoa Award (MCA) includes representatives from different sectors involved in the cacao chain of production.
Their tasks include:
• Involving key players in promoting the MCA (producers and buyers)
• Supporting the call for entries among producers and associations of producers
• Supporting the validation of biodiversity-friendly production methods
• Supporting the promotion of activities involving the MCA.
